One of the questions I receive a lot is about the batteries we offer with our products and how to care for them. So let me tell you about our batteries.
We use Lithium Polymer batteries with our products; not to be confused with Lithium Ion. A lithium polymer battery is very light weight and have improved safety versus lithium Ion. They also cost more (50% more on average).
But, as anyone might have seen with the recent saga of a certain cellphone brand being banned from flights, lithium-ion batteries are inherently unstable, suffer from aging, and are potentially dangerous. If the barrier that separates the positive and negative electrode is ever breached, the chemical reaction can cause combustion (fire). Li-ion batteries have become more popular in consumer electronics, businesses have tried to lower costs by cutting corners.
Lithium-polymer batteries, on the other hand, are generally robust and flexible, especially when it comes to the size and shape of their build. They are also lightweight, have an extremely low profile, and have a lower chance of suffering from leaking electrolyte and as such are much safer.
I have also received a lot of questions regarding battery duration in our new Vest. One of the biggest differences from our previous generation model is that the new model vest has a built in thermostat that monitors temperature. So the two variables that will decide how long your battery will last is temperature (how cold it is) and Outer Layer (what insulating layer you have on top). If it is -35 Celsius outside and you have a hoody on, the battery will have to work extra hard to maintain the set temperature hence will deplete faster. In ideal conditions the battery should last 2 hours in high. In the lower settings the two variables are more important and will play a bigger factor in the run time.
And don't forget to please charge your batteries at least once every 3 months when not in use.
Hi Rick,
I have sent you an email with the details. Thanks.
Jimmy
I was given one of your vests for this past Christmas and it works great . I work a 12 hr shift mostly outside and the two batteries won’t cover the full 12 hrs even on low. I’d like a price for a extra battery if you could
Thanks

Hi Suzanne, I just sent you an email as well. The charger should always have a red light when the batteries are charging unless they are fully charged. I can replace the charger for you if that is not the case. Let me know via reply to the email I sent you. Thanks.

Hi, this vest is new for Christmas 2019, after charging batteries, find use is good for about 3 hours then vest heat shuts off. When go to recharge batteries the green light comes on almost immediately after plugging in…..how long should you leave plugged in and how do you know when up to full charge.? Thanks
Hi Melanie,
Yes the batteries have been getting better over time. Please send me an email with all the details with your shipping address and phone number and I will send out some of our newer batteries. Besides the product I want to make sure this is the best customer service experience you receive. Thanks.
Jimmy
Hi Angela,
Please send me an email at jimmysingh@firedupx.com with your shipping address and phone number and I will send out two new batteries to you.
Jimmy
Hi Marc,
The Vest battery charges in about 2 hours. Please make sure you wait for it to cycle through a few charges. It might be a bit inconsistent in the beginning but will eventually get stable with more charges.

Hi there.
We purchased two vests and a set of gloves from an event last year. Ski and snowboard show. We love the products and recommend every chance we get….unfortunately within two months of purchase one battery pack died. within 6 months two others wont hold a charge and the third we get 10 min of use from it.
:( Do you offer warranty of the batteries or replacement? I’ve never had batties die like this before so it’s a bit upsetting as I love the vest and when the batteries worked it was the best purchase I ever made
I purchased the vest 2 years ago. This will be the 3rd winter. Sadly the batteries are not holding the charge.as in the previous two winters. The vest does get used periodically over the other months (during camping season) so they have been getting charged. I am unsure what the life expectancy of these batteries should be? Both batteries are now lasting approximately 20 minutes.
how long to get the battery charged?
Hi Steve,
Please send me an email at info@firedupx.com with your shipping address. Although it is out of the warranty I will send you a new one. Thanks.
Jimmy
Hi Joel,
We have the chargers for sale on our website now.

Hi there;
do you warranty batteries? I have 4 ( 2 vet, 2 gloves) and this season 1 of the vest batteries has decided it only wants to give about 20 min power on low per charge. others all seem shorter than new but still quite good. Bought 2 years ago so this would be the start of the 3rd fall season for me using them.
thoughts?
I have misplaced the charger for the Li-polymer Battery [ Model:3S1P1263120; Voltage: DC 11.1V; Capacity : 3000mAh/33.3wh] for my Fired Up X Heated Apparel. How and where do I go to buy another charger?
